In the area of exploring gaming and learning I will soon be working with my school's computer club. Check out the post on Grade 3: Computer Club and Balancing Act for today.
I'm not sure how teaching grades 1-3 with Food Force will work out but I'm going to try it anyway. I think that the level of discussion and the level of game play will hamper student learning and sharing. I'm going to try it anyway because I think I will be able to get a better gage of student ability from the lower grades. I've only taught 2/3, 3 and 5 so I am eager to get more experience with the whole spectrum of students.
Our school's focus is on Math (or Maths as they say in Australia) and I can always down shift to some Edutainment math.
